I was already ecstatic to have Indomie for dinner but this place really surprised me with its ambiance. The City Pop music combined with any of their drinks gonna make you feel good. The owner and the staff they’re amazing too. Makasi

Cool place for drinks and live music. When I came there was no band - but sometimes it‘s better to just listen to some records. And they had a good music vibe going on. The draft beer is Heineken unfortunately. But that’s the only little setback here. Well, and the noisy and very drunk American couple. But that’s was not the bar‘s fault

Longtime hub for cultural and art workers with an internationalist commitment to solidarity. Owners are friendly and kind and the place is full of regulars from the neighborhood as well as from abroad. It’s a must visit if you like good music (live or not), have rad politics, and thoughtfully made and delicious Indonesian food. Also if you enjoy arak cocktails which is rare outside of Indonesia you’re in for an amazing time.

SUB Store Tokyo is definitely the kind of place I’d frequent if I could. It’s a cozy spot that serves drinks and used books, with a selection of reference books available to read on-site. They also usually serve Indonesian food, but unfortunately, when I visited, there weren’t any Indonesian dishes on the menu. One of the highlights for me was the collection of books on Palestine, along with an ongoing exhibition featuring artwork by Palestinian artists. I ended up buying a few zines and a mini poetry collection - just a small taste of what I’d love to explore here. Can’t wait to come back and spend more time soaking it all in.
